St. Frances of Rome Saw THIS in Hell’s Darkest Pit
St. Francis of Rome was granted a terrifying vision of Hell’s darkest pit—and what she saw is both chilling and eye-opening. Her vision reveals the torments of hell, the reality of sin, and the urgency of repentance. It’s a powerful Lenten reminder that God’s mercy is always available, but we must seek it.

hello welcome back to lent daily we are Wednesday of the first full week of Lent thank you for joining with us and so today we're going to talk about St Francis of Rome and what God revealed to her about hell but here's a warning about this video uh she gets in this this video is not for young ears uh and she gets into some details about how God in her Revelations punishes sins of the flesh particularly between men of the same sex so so if you're sensitive to that uh or if this is going to cause you a lot of anger you're you've been warned you don't have to watch this video and I'm not going to respond to all the negative comments in the video um about this if you don't like it so just so you know but if you're interested this vision is is just eye opening but who is St Francis of Rome St Francis lived between 1384 and 1440 she was a holy Roman woman of noble lineage granted Vivid and Powerful Visions she shared these Revelations with her spiritual director Canon Giovani matteotti who carefully documented them both as a testament to her sanctity and for the spiritual benefit of future Generations she was canonized by Pope Paul V in 16008 St Francis of Rome suffered greatly also throughout her life she may have had a noble lineage but uh her husband was exiled they lost all their wealth and she suffered suffered with illness particularly when she was very sick in 1434 this is where our Lord revealed to her most of her Visions regarding hell now to her visions of hell she described seeing a huge Gate of Hell and then being taken in and seeing three separate different regions of hell and seeing Satan in all three different regions that he's so vast that he occupies all spaces within the regions of hell and was so utterly terrifying to her that she would been a wouldn't have been able to continue on but God had with her the Archangel Raphael to strengthen her throughout her visions of Hell one thing that caught my attention in the readings is she saw particular demons leaving hell going to certain Souls that have lost their salvation and brought them into hell and so she describes this process to the accompaniment of dreadful clamors and cries they dragged with them The Condemned Souls Of Those whom they managed to ens snare or deceive the demons mocked and derided these lost souls mercilessly with such appalling utterances that they cannot be repeated here nor committed to writing is there anything you want to say it seems really scary yeah that's part of the point of this is that hell is a scary thing it's the ultimate ruin there's nothing worse than losing God God forever for all eternity um one thing that stands out to me is that they brought to the hell Souls that were ens snared and deceived ens snared and deceived first what ens snares us it's Sin Sin and enslaves us and then in fact scripture talks about we become slaves to sin but Jesus is the one that can free Us by his Mercy with when we come to him and ask his forgiveness open our hearts to his his Mercy the second thing is not just people who've been ins snared but those who have been deceived how does one get deceived by lies so those are two things that we really need to guard against our one is we have to guard oursel against the near occasion of sin so that we don't become ins snared because one sin will lead to another sin that's what sin does it's a progressive Thing by its nature one is never satisfied with to just one sin it leads to another sin always never fulfills its promise it takes you farther than you want to go and then it keeps you in a place lost much longer than you want to be there so we have to guard ourselves against sin that in snares and being deceived and how do we guard ourselves from being deceived we cling to the church who has the fullness of Truth the the church is not insufficient in its teachings regarding faith and morals and so whenever we're drifting away from what the church teaches regarding faith and morals it's not the church that has ered it is us so if you're struggling with what the church teaches find out the why before you run these demons grasping the Souls which they had claimed for hell LED them through the Grim entrance of the UN hollowed Inferno they hurled some into the Flaming mouth of the Great Dragon which gaped open nearby these Souls were swallowed by the dragon but then after a while fouly regurgitated covered in disgusting and acrid mucus at this point they were LED before a certain magistrate of high officer of the Demons before this fiery infernal magistrate the case of each particular Soul was carefully considered then the most appropriate region of hell and form of torments were determined for it on the basis of the sin and crimes it had committed and the vices to which it had succumbed during its Earthly life um I I'm just thinking about my own personal vices that I need to uh work on here because I don't want that to be my reality right yeah none of us do here we see a pattern forming within the mystics that we're covering and that is different punishments in hell for different sins uh um you'll see this in St Francis of Rome's writing you'll see this in others that we are going to cover in the future then similarly judged and then handed over to the appropriate demons to undergo their due torments these were the souls who were guilty of less serious crimes and were therefore to remain on the uppermost level of The Inferno even there though their torments were endless and unspeakable and who do we find in the uppermost regions of Hell St Francis answers there were tormented The Souls of Christians who were negligent of their faith or who failed to make proper confession before passing away so I think you can see the importance here of making a good confession we're in the time of Lent where the sacrament is often made available to us in a extra generous way so let's take opportunity of the sacrament of confession and I'll just simply ask you a question like have you ever had an honest confession where you've said every or if youve been your practice of confession has been oh you keep certain sins secret or dance around really what's going on uh let us not Dance with the Devil it doesn't work well but God is rich in his mercy and so here we have really highlighting an important truth about the sacrament of reconciliation and how important that is in our life but also important at the end of life St Francis is overwhelmed by these visions and once again again St Raphael the Archangel Comforts her and encourage encourages her then they go to a particular place in how she says that is reserved for those who have committed sins against nature what she's specifically referring to is sexual sin that doesn't correspond to our nature this place of Torment was located in one of the nethermost and darkest pits of hell and it served as the Everlasting home of those depraved Souls who have indulged in sexual lusts and perversities contrary to the good and wholesome ordering of divine and natural law here were crowds of demons each bearing in their claw-like hands heated rods resembling iron javelins which glowed with red hot intensity upon one of these instruments of Torment the soul of each depraved malactor and pervert was impaled the spear entering through the posterior orifice this fiery spear was then drawn out through the mouth of the condemned wretched passing through their entire body either quickly or violently or with excruciating and protracted slowness and from this hideous and ever repeating process there was neither rest nor restate I want to be really sensitive in my comments after this because this is very descriptive language um and I understand how some might take great offense to this [Music] but if we just look set aside the vision for a second and just look at sin and general sin offends God no matter what classification we find it in we have the moral sin we have venal sins but then even within mortal sin some sins are more serious than others um we have to guard ourselves on one extreme that the world presents to us that the sin described within this Vision or related sins we have to guard ourselves of just going along with the world because things have become so normalized sin has become so normalized and I can't help but think of the scripture Broad and wide is a road that leads to destruction and many travel it but narrow is the road that leads to eternal life and few travel it
um what what are those numbers we don't know right but Ralph Martin I remember pointing out saying many does not mean few and few does not mean many we have to guard ourselves against being in the camp of many that just go along with Trends the truth doesn't change with the trend and then we also have to remember that God's Mercy is great and available to every one who turns to him God will exclude no heart that turns towards him including our own I think important to remember as we we look at this now St Francis turns her attention to another sin that leads people into the most lowest region of hell and that is the sin of with corrupt money lenders their bodies were laid upon a burning fiery counting table and their limbs forcibly stretched out how however though their limbs were extended they did not assume the form of a corpse for as Raphael explained to her that Holy sign of form was not permitted anywhere in Hell demons stood all around them with vessels filled with modled gold and silver they poured this gleaming and scalding liquid down the throats of each of the tormented souls and with sharp implements they carved a kind of deep incision and pit in the flesh of each one in close proximity to the heart of the victims and similarly poured the molten precious metals into this bleeding opening as they did so the demons declared with cruel joke candid and bitter derision oh wretched avaricious Souls remember how desperately you longed for gold and silver while you lived recall how closely you always held these gleaming medals to your insatiable and miserly hearts well now you may have your fill of it and more I can't help but think of the scripture passage where Jesus says where your heart is there your treasure will be also it seems that this is true in heaven and also true in hell now some are thinking and like this is pretty descriptive language and I just have a feeling that some people are going to be watching and they're just going to be offended by this graphic type of language um first so I say like what would you expect hell to be like sweet and gentle so like I is this exactly what hell is like well no I'm not saying that this is her private Revelations I just don't think it's going to be sweet and gentle I think it's going to be beyond anything that that we could imagine in that is horrific I think that's one of the points but maybe going to a practical Point like well are these objects of torture physically in Hell St Francis Francis of Rome deals with that question her companion Raphael explained that these things appeared in her vision to be such but they were not in reality physical things at all rather they represented through the medium of physical images the spiritual torments which the souls there experienced so I think that's important to remember that these things that we've been reading are according to St Francis of her role and her acknowledgement they represent punishments um nonetheless offer all for your consideration uh share with us below what's stood out to you and why and we will end with a prayer Oh my Jesus forgive us our sins save us from the fires of Hell lead All Souls to Heaven especially those in most need of thy mercy beneath your compassion we take refuge oh Mother of God do not despise our petitions in time of trouble but rescue us from dangers amen [Music]
