Welcome back today is Monday and we are going to be looking at St Catherine of Sienna's four torments of hell so yeah it has been incredibly busy around the Yasinski household these days and it's because of this Lenten Series yeah it has uh the the the level of like business just wraps up because there's a lot of research there's filming there's uh a lot of prep that goes into this but it's been wonderful mhm and I I just want to say like we're only a few days ahead in terms of filming so when you see this video it's it was only recorded a couple days ago and so I'm just really noticing how much time and effort is being put into this and we have um somebody that works for us his name is Matthew he's really a lovely young gentleman and uh I was having a conversation with him before we started this we were talking about these videos because hell is a heavy topic and so you never know how people are going to respond when they listen to these videos like I'm surprised at how people are really relating with this or just appreciative of this content because it's not something that we talk about often um but one thing that Matthew said to me that really stood out to me was like it just increases my appreciation for my savior and I thought yeah that's right like hell is not a place that we want to go to and Jesus came to save us from hell yeah so we just want to thank you for journeying with us thank you for your comments thank you for sticking through uh this Series has been a little bit unexpected in terms of attention because a lot of you have joined us for the first time and uh so thank you so much if you go through to the comments it's really interesting sometimes you'll see like these really negative angry people commenting on these videos and it can give the impression that if you appreciate the message that you're in the minority uh but just so you know I see analytics That You Don't See and the like to dislike ratio is really revealing because less than half a percent of people engage with these videos in a negative way with the like dislike ratio but the Comon usually they just really rant and rant and rant so just so you know less than half a percent of people dislike these videos which I find really remarkable remarkable now everyone's going to start disliking the videos but anyways we we'll get to thank you for joining with us let's get to uh St cathine of SIA doctor doctor of the church and her four torments of Hell these private Revelations are coming to us through a book called the dialogue where God the Father speaks to St Catherine of Sienna the first torment of Hell Souls can't see God the first is that they see themselves deprived of the vision of me which is such pain to them that were it possible they would rather choose the fire and the tortures and torments and to see me than to be without the torments and not see me I find this a little hard to understand you know the first torment is that Soul can't see God they're deprived of sin seeing him like well why is that so painful can you see God right now and how are you doing you seem to be doing okay I mean you're smiling back at us I'm like we we just can't see God right now so why does this constitute one of the worst sufferings of hell um so this is maybe comment below and share your thoughts but I'm just going to share my own insights and this is not taken from someone else but we just we live in a veiled world we can't God hides himself a little from us why would he do that well because if he made himself I think so obvious then we would have no need of Faith well there's God and why is Faith so important well scripture says without faith it's impossible to please God it would also maybe Bend our free will in a little bit if God showed himself in all perfect Majesty well why wouldn't we choose him but the nature of God is that he's love and he wants to be chosen and so we have this tension he wants us but he doesn't want to take our free will love needs to be reciprocated and so he veils himself and so in his Mercy this is this is how it is and we're we're caught between sort of these two things like the beauty of Heaven and the horrors of hell both of which we have four tastes on this Earth you've experienced Beauty and joy and love and you've probably experienced foraste of Hell of Despair and anxiety the consequences of sin and suffering so how then is this suffering so bad that we can't see God well because the soul we the person a person is created for the beatific Vision that is immediate knowledge of God and beholding him face to face and when a soul experiences that the immediate knowledge of God and beholding them face to face this is perfect happiness that's what the church teaches and so when you're not seeing God you get misery a soul is living and existing in a state that is contrary to his its existence take for example this no smartphone is made for a purpose and a design but if you take this thing and use it as a frisbee it's going to break so the the point is this things break when they're used in contradiction to their design a soul in hell is a living contradiction it's broken it has no life within within it in terms of sanctifying Grace and so in this way I'm starting to try and make sense of why this constitutes the worst suffering of Hell uh because one is a living Eternal contradiction unable to fulfill the very thing it was designed for which is to have immediate knowledge of God and behold them face to face which is perfect happiness the second torment of Hell Agony of regret the first pain then gives rise to the second the worm of conscience which gnaws unceasingly knowing that the soul is deprived of me and of the conversation of the Angels instead through sin the soul has been made worthy of the conversation and of the Devils the worm of conscience and the agony of regret um have you ever experienced that the agony of regret I think we all ought to have experienced that in our life when we have sin there there's something that's good about in this world when we disobey God and we feel bad about it there's an Agony there's a conscience that rises up and says no you shouldn't do that that the purpose of that is to move us towards God but IM imagine having that conscience awoken inflamed and now you cannot quench those voices in your mind for all eternity you know that Soul knows what it did why it did it and how foolish it was uh I see the pain of conscience sometimes in our children wouldn't you say well yeah for sure you don't like seeing them sit there for too long and we have one particular child child whose conscience is particularly sensitive and anything that this child would do that may be a borderline disobedient to us or they do something and it comes to their conscience after they have to tell us because if they don't they're Disturbed that's a beautiful thing but what a terrible thing that would be for that to exist for all eternity to have no reprieve to have no peace mhm to know that only you are the source of your unhappiness there was no one else to blame so often when we make mistakes we like to point the finger and say well it was because of them that I reacted this way or it's always somebody else's fault and we are great at pointing the finger but every time we point the finger we have to remember there's three more points right back at us um in Hell the the worm of conscience reveals that there's no one else to blame except oneself the third torment is the Diabolical Vision the vision of the devil is the third pain and intensifies in them their every Agony the Saints in heaven exalt in the sight of me refreshing themselves with joy the fruit of their toils born for me with such abundance of love and displeasure with themselves in the same way the sight of the devil renews these wretched ones to torments in seeing him they know themselves more that is to say they know that by their own sin they have made themselves worthy of this so the worm of conscience gnaws more and more and the fire of this conscience never ceases to burn the sight is even more painful to them because they see him in his own form which is so horrible that the heart of man could not imagine it so the Diabolical Vision anything catch your attention well I'm just wondering because it says we wouldn't we wouldn't even be able to comprehend how awful this would be and how here on Earth like often we'll see people dress up as the devil they're all red with horns and a pitchfork but clearly that's not what the devil would look like saying trick or treat yeah yeah that's that's uh more horrible than we could imagine uh take for example your experience of seeing something that has Disturbed you I'm sure you've experienced that we all have in this life in this Fallen word world maybe it's an injustice that we have witnessed a violent act a death of a person sometimes we have these memories and we wish we could unsee them because they disturb us because of the evil that we witnessed this is why the internet can be such a diabolical thing because you can see things that are not meant to be seen and so here we begin to understand little foreshadows of what this is little taste of that diabolical Vision we suffer when we see something evil we experience that within our with within ourselves something is greatly Disturbed now magnify that magnify that by a thousand and then the Soul is forced to look upon the ugliness of Satan for all eternity and he knows that what he sees and the evil that he beholds before his eyes is totally completely because of what he has made himself worthy of seeing the devil is almost like seeing a death alive and this vision of the devil is just uh continuously a torture God the Father reminds St Katherine of Sienna that she was shown the devil only for a short period of time and that she lost herself when she saw this brief vision and St cathine then responds to God the father that she would rather walk on a road of fire until the final judgment than to experience a brief vision of the dbolical Diabolical Vision again God the father said with all this that you have seen even you do not know how fully horrible he is for by Divine Justice he appears more horrible to the soul that is deprived of me and more or less according to the gravity of sin once again we have this theme of a soul suffering according to the gravity of their sin which is a something that we've seen many of the Saints talk about in their private Revelations the fourth torment the fire of Hell This Fire Burns yet does not consume for the substance of the Soul cannot be consumed because it is not a material thing that fire can consume but I by Divine Justice have permitted the fire to burn them with torments so that it torments them without consuming them with the greatest pains in various ways according to the variety of their sins to some more and to some less according to the gravity of their fault and maybe at this point we could be falling into a little bit of discouragement you know like we don't want that to be us right well will God give us the sufficient Grace to be saved does he give chances does he give Second Chances and third chances listen to what God the father says about this they did not correct themselves after the reproof I gave them in this life concerning their Injustice and false judgment nor did they change after the second Repro they received at the moment of death but instead refused refuse to Hope in me or grieve for the offenses done to me but only for their own pain so they have in this way miserably received Eternal punishment and again we might be getting the impression that God is Not merciful through all of this um just keep in mind we're going to get the Purgatory and we're going to get to heaven those are videos coming in the future we're still focused on help um but St Catherine teaches that even in Hell Souls experience God's mercy because she teaches that God's Divine Justice is tempered by his mercy so the souls in hell are actually not receiving what they fully deserve because of God's mercy so I have a question how many more videos are there on hell are you getting tired of Hell well I don't know it's is it you said three Matthew yeah three three we're getting there and after that we're going to move into Pur Purgatory for eight episodes and then Eight Episodes in heaven so hang in there we're almost done this hell stuff um but share with us below what the do2 and Y and let's end with a [Music] prayer Oh my Jesus forgive us our sins save us from the fires of Hell lead All Souls to Heaven especially those in most need of thy mercy Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus holy Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death amen
