welcome back today is our last day of purgatory well video video
could you imagine if it was a soul's last day in purgatory that's something to rejoice about yeah and maybe you feel like this is purgatory for you watching these videos i don't know but if you're new here we've been journeying through heaven so hell purgatory and next is heaven so we've done 10 episodes on hell eight now on purgatory monday we start on heaven so stay with us but today uh little shift here something interesting happened before we turned on the cameras right i just kind of jokingly just asked Ken "Do you think you've ever seen a soul in purgatory?" And then he kind of just sat there in silence for a while and I was like "Do you have something to share with me?" So what we're going to share with you we share because we feel like there is a point and there is a benefit that's why we will share personally because I think there is a point to what we're going to share so when Janelle asked me that question did I have I ever seen a soul in purgatory um I've had a couple different experiences that make me wonder about things one time I was speaking at a conference and after my session the conference went into eukaristic adoration so I'm in prayer and during this period of time I was aware of somebody close to me who was sick however their death was not imminent and as I was in prayer really thinking about Jesus and nothing else it was just a nice moment of prayer all of a sudden I in my mind's eye saw this person very clearly but they were younger uh and in somewhat of a state of peace and joy but not a complete joy and it was just unusual because I wasn't thinking about this person they looked a little different and they were just there in my mind well after Eucharistic adoration I received word that this person had passed
away so I I I don't know why that happened um except for maybe the Lord was just saying pray for them so that was an unusual experience that caught my attention and it was definitely different um and then I had an you had an experience maybe you that you'd like to share and I'll go into my last one sure um I remember after um maybe like a week after somebody that I know had passed away he was a priest i had a dream and in this dream and I find God often uses dreams for me where he will just bring different people to mind that maybe that I should pray for and anyhow this gentleman had passed away he was a priest and in my dream he was at our co cathedral here in Saskatoon and he was wearing a beautiful vestment and kind of similar to Ken where he looked young and he had beautiful hair and he looked happy and and when I think of this dream I don't think okay I'm not going to assume that this priest is in heaven because you don't ever want to assume that for anybody that would do them a disservice because if they are not in heaven they surely could use our prayers so I I just use that to continue to pray for that person but also to pray with great hope because um they seemed happy in my dream mhm and then to the last account here and then we'll get to why we're sharing uh I was at a funeral of two people and um their caskets their coffins were at the front of the church and in the middle of uh the mass uh I I looked up and I again it's not an um a vision but it was like in my mind's eye saw them I saw them standing at the ends of each of their coffins with their arms crossed like or in a more solemn gesture and then their heads bowed and they looked
sad and it was
a it was unexpected it was like again it was just like I wasn't thinking I would look up and I I I wish to imagine that it was just present and uh it was a little bit jarring like why am I thinking this or why am I seeing this in my imagination it was just it was just right there like I I it definitely caught my attention so why did this happen you know why does someone sometimes come to us in a dream like that or we have these experiences and I think it's good not to simply dismiss these experiences when they happen but perhaps the Lord would be calling us to pray for these people that come to mind like like this in unusual manners and should it be the case that oh can you just have an overactive imagination or you that was just coincidence and you explain it away fine you do what you want but let's say you pray anyway it does no harm just no harm to pray for someone who's passed away cuz we don't know if they're in heaven until they get canonized by the Catholic Church and for most people there isn't an official canonization right so it does no harm to respond to experiences like this and to pray for them immediately or to offer a mass to say the rosary to penance to sacrifice zero harm and if by chance this the these this this person is in heaven well God is kind and he's just and he wastes nothing and when we pray for the holy souls in purgatory it disposes us to grace it does something good for us but then God in his generosity and kindness if by chance that soul is in heaven he will apply those merits and those graces to those who really need help and then guess what we just got a new friend because can you imagine a soul in purgatory who receives a prayer from someone would they be indifferent to that person especially if they have alleviated great sufferings think about in your life when someone has come alongside of you and helped you especially if that need was really great you remember that person your entire life the greater the need the greater the help the greater that memory and that bond think about the soul in purgatory they are helpless they cannot help themselves completely dependent upon our prayers and then we come along and assist them we haven't been asked by them what a great gift of love to them you can be sure that we have gained a friend in in purgatory and what will they do they'll pray for us now I know that there's some debate can the souls in purgatory pray for us and some people say yes some people say no i just don't want to get into that but I can assure you by the time anyone gets to heaven they're going to pray for you so either way you're going to get a prayer so again we share all this and say maybe you've had those experiences you didn't know how to react well it's well pray for those people who have passed away who come to your imagination who come to your memory who come to you in a dream you might be finding yourself in the day thinking why am I thinking about this person and they've been passed away for a long time why did I just think of my my grandma my great-g grandandmother pray for them don't analyze it just pray for them it does no harm mhm do you have anything else to add or are we kind of done here no I think we're done okay so share with us maybe you've had some similar experiences like that i' I'd love to read about them in the comments if you feel comfortable sharing um and we'll start again on Monday now we'll transition into heaven really excited about this and tomorrow father Christino will be with us but let's end with a prayer [Music] eternal father I offer thee the most precious blood of thy divine son Jesus in union with the masses said throughout the world today for all the holy souls in purgatory for sinners everywhere for sinners in the universal church those in my own home and within my family amen [Music]
