will you remember your spouse in heaven will your closest friendships last or be forgotten and what if someone you loved is in hell these aren't just deep questions they're eternal ones in this episode we're diving into the profound private revelations of St Catherine of Sienna where God the Father himself answers these very questions what you will discover might just change how you live now and how you hope to die

welcome back today is our second day on heaven it is and we're looking at some really practical questions as St Catherine reveals the answers to from God the Father one is this have you ever thought "Will I remember the people that I love once I'm in heaven and will I know these people?" God the Father says to St Catherine "And though they are all joined in the bond of charity they know a special kind of sharing with those whom they loved most closely with a special love in the world a love through which they grew in grace and virtue they helped each other proclaim the glory and praise of my name in themselves and in their neighbors so now in everlasting life they have not lost that love no they still love and share with each other even more closely and fully adding their love to the good of all what do you think about that oh I'm just so glad to hear that because I feel like that would be sad if you didn't know but I mean there's no sadness in heaven so I just it's hard to understand but I think that's a real uh struggle with some people you know especially if you're watching and you have a loved one who has passed away and there's just this ache within you god the Father is saying to Katherine you know for those relationships that have been established in love when a person has died in the state of grace to some degree they continue in heaven but to a greater degree of perfection and I think that's a a great consolation to us so by God's grace um Janelle is stuck with me for all eternity i I will take you for all eternity of course the marriage relationship that sacrament doesn't continue forever because um that that bond of marriage ends at death but the point is that the what whatever has been established in Christ is is not forgotten and some might be struggling with a cat are you sure about this okay well let's just think about this logically would it be kind and loving for Jesus to forget about his mother in heaven you have to remember that their relationship on Mary's part was started here on earth so her earthly relationship with her son started here on earth in her earthly life is it just to her and kind to her that Jesus would now go to heaven king of kings lord of lords and never remember his mother on the contrary the whole reason that we have Mary in devotion is because we believe that Jesus recognizes Mary as queen of heaven that she has a unique and special relationship with him that is different than everyone else in heaven in fact St Alphonsus Liguori says that you that relationship is so powerful that when Mary presents her requests to Jesus he perceives perceives them as though they are a command now think about this all our Marian devotions are based upon this assumption that Mary has a unique relationship with Jesus that started on earth are we supposed to think that it's just those two who recognize each other in heaven no one else well that's not logical and so this now bring this to our personal relationships that have been established in Christ friendships in Christ where we've grown in virtue together husband and wife relationships children and and father and mother and daughter like all these beautiful relationships in Christ to some degree when and if we die in the state of grace are magnified and perfected in heaven i I think this is a great consolation to those who are suffering with loss and fills us with great hope for what is to come oh but here's a question do those in heaven now forget about us here down on earth god the Father says to St catherine "Their desires are a continual cry to me for the salvation of others for they finished their lives loving their neighbors and they did not leave that love behind but brought it with them when they passed through the gate which is my only begotten son so you see that in whatever bond of love they finish their lives that bond is theirs forever and lasts eternally so do those in heaven forget about the loved ones they left on earth the answer no and this makes sense i mean if if you're in heaven and your will is now perfectly uh purified you're united totally to Jesus aren't you going to want what he wants of course that's what love does it unites itself to the one it loves and you you will want what Jesus wants well what does Jesus want he wants all to be saved including our loved ones so it would be inconsistent with love to believe oh those in heaven have no concern for those on earth that's inconsistent with love because Jesus has a concern for those on earth and if we love Jesus we will love what he loves furthermore if you look at scripture Jesus says "Pray this way let thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven." So God's will on earth as it is in heaven if he told us to pray this way on earth to his disciples do you think that those in heaven don't pray continue to pray this way of course they continue to fulfill this prayer they continue to go to God and ask for his kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven where they are where they perceive God's will even more acutely and perfectly so I think this is this is wonderful maybe you had someone who's you has died assuming that they've died in a state of grace or in heaven what are they doing they're seeking your salvation isn't this also what all the saints do when we ask their intercession so this is I have a question about that so if there's people in heaven who are now praying for the next generations shouldn't the next generations become more holy because they're receiving more prayers well you're just trying to mess this video up good question there's the mystery of faith though right the the mystery of free will we still have to choose mhm and so what the people in heaven want is is what Jesus wants and they want us to choose mhm to to not abuse the greatest gift that God has given us which is our free will but to use it in conformity with his will now if you think about uh again Mary every time Mary comes to earth it's it's because she has great concern for us is she the again is she the only one in heaven who has great concern for those on earth no but just look how much concern she has when she appears to the children at Fatima saying "Pray pray very much because many souls go to hell because they have no one to sacrifice and pray for them." So she comes because she has great concern so all those in heaven your loved ones in heaven have a concern for your eternal salvation they do not forget you god the Father says to St catherine "What these blessed ones want is to see me honored in you who are still on the way pilgrims running ever nearer your end in death because they seek my honor they desire your salvation and so they are constantly praying to me for you i do my part to fulfill their desire provided only that you do not foolishly resist my mercy what I've always thought is that once you're in heaven it's just not going to matter what what's going on on earth or with anybody else because you're just in the presence of God and that's just going to be amazing and all-consuming right yeah and I think a lot of people misstep with that belief because you logically then have to look at well then why do we ask the intercession of the saints why would we ask the intercession of somebody who does not care about us and obviously they do care and that's one reason why we ask their intercession they care greatly because they love us greatly more perfectly uh if you think about um on the natural level when we have uh two people that come into our home and every time they come into our home they ask in one way or another how can I help you and that is my mom and dad do you remember that one time dad was over he he he was playing with the kids he had like five or 10 more minutes yeah yeah and what did he say he was like "Can I do something for you like wash your toilets or something like that." And I'm like "You have like 10 minutes before you got to leave it's fine you can just relax here."

That is an expression of love how can I help you you know that continues in heaven heaven is where we go into God's house our eternal father's house and we don't sit back on the white sand beaches like we're in Mexico at the all-inclusive and have our drink and say "Oh there's nothing else left to do i'm just going to sit here with me in Jesus." Isn't it natural a natural response of love to say "How can I help you to Jesus how can I continue to serve you?" Isn't that natural and some think again is this not not taken a little bit too far well please consider a doctor of the church St terz of Leia this is what she said i will send down a shower of roses from heaven i will spend my heaven doing good upon earth that doesn't sound like relaxing on a white sand beach with your favorite alcoholic drink to me you say "I will spend my heaven doing good on earth." Beautiful beautiful much more exciting than sitting on this white sand beach with your favorite alcoholic drink let's Let's expand our vision of heaven to be much more than just this little floating in the sky having a good time again God has something far beyond what we can hope for or imagine so here's a troubling thought for you maybe you've thought of this what if I'm in heaven and the ones I love have already died and they're not in heaven what if they have lost their eternal salvation and are now in hell and I know this because they're not in heaven then what God the Father says to St Catherine they are so conformed to my will that they can only will only what I will their will is so one with mine that even if a father and mother saw their child in hell or a child its parent it would not trouble them they would even be content to see them punished since they are my enemies nothing puts them at variance with me all their desires are fulfilled you might hear that and think what a little harsh i feel a little sad about it yeah but one thing we have to understand is that we read this with our earthly understanding but God the Father is saying when you're in heaven there is no variance with a soul regarding wanting his will and isn't the whole spiritual life now wanting what God wants doing what he wants and so in heaven there is no variance there is no veil we want what he wants and I think that's how we can rectify this tension between how is that possible that that we could not struggle with that in heaven now here's another thing that we might think a person may struggle with in heaven consider this have you ever lost something that was very valuable to you and wanted it back well in heaven actually that's the case everyone in heaven initially has lost something and they they will want it back to some degree and what is that thing the body the body is pretty important isn't it you know what about that souls in heaven haven't haven't had the resurrection of the dead yet so there's no unity of the soul and body yet is there a longing in those people in heaven wanting their body and does this make them sad god the Father says to St catherine it is also their desire to have once again the gift of their bodies but it is not a troubled desire because although they do not have them now they are happy in the certainty that their desire will be fulfilled they are not troubled for they experience no pain or lack of happiness in not having them but when we do get a glorified body what will our body be like god the Father says to St Catherine the glorified body could pass through a wall and neither fire nor water could hurt it but know that this is not due to its own power but to the souls which is really my own power given her by grace through the unspeakable love with which I created her in my image and likeness i was told you're going to look like you're 17

i'm sure you'll still be beautiful but uh we see some of this with Jesus after the resurrection of the dead by will he moves so there's something physical about his body his body is resurrected from the dead and he just appears to the apostles in a locked room so he moved by will into the room um we also see that he ate so he could interact with the world he could eat and so there's something physical about heaven eventually with our glorified body so how else does our body relate to our eternal reward god the Father says this "Every action whether good or evil is done by means of the body so it is just my daughter that my chosen ones should be rewarded with endless glory and good in their glorified bodies for the toil they endured for me in body as well as in soul and the wicked likewise will be eternally punished in their bodies which were their instruments of evil we've seen through our previous private revelations that we've covered regarding hell that the souls of the damned in their bodies will have the marks of their sins i'm thinking also of St john Bosco who said it there'll be imprints on foreheads but there's something about one's physical body at the end of time that will resemble how one has rejected God now we see the opposite in heaven through this revelation god the father says to St Catherine regarding the glorified body and they will see how all the sufferings the blessed endured remain as adornments on their bodies like ornamentation imprinted on cloth not from the body's own excellence but because the soul from her fullness will imprint on the body the fruits of its labors to shine outwardly since it was her partner in virtue just as a mirror reflects a person's face just so the fruit of their labors will be reflected in their bodies i think this is a beautiful reflection regarding the physical body in heaven and once again I think in one sense it's it's just when you think about Jesus when you think about his glorified body when he shows himself to the apostles he has the wounds and does this continue in heaven does Jesus continue to have these wounds for all eternity well it would seem right and just because by his wounds we are healed We are saved and it would should we forget about what Jesus has done for us on the cross it seems right and just that when we look at his physical body in heaven we will be reminded by his wounds exactly how much he loves god the Father says to St Catherine what joy there is in his wounds forever fresh the scars remaining in his body and continually crying out for mercy to me the high eternal father for you you will all be made like him in joy and gladness the point our faithfulness now will somehow be shown forth in our physical body our glorified body in heaven friends thank you for watching share with us below what stood out to and why and we'll end with a prayer

oh my Jesus oh highest good I repent of having so lightly esteemed your grace that I have barted it away for mere nothing when will it be oh Lord that I shall see you face to face and shall embrace you without the fear of ever having to lose you aid me with your grace this I hope for through your merits more and more increase in me your love and the desire to please you amen
