He Spent $2 Million to Stop Aging—But Missed This Eternal Truth
It’s Holy Week.We remember Christ’s Passion—but are we chasing comfort instead of the Cross?
One man spends $2 million a year trying to stop aging. Supplements. MRIs. Oxygen masks. All to avoid what none of us can escape. And yet… he’s still empty.
St. Anselm of Canterbury, Doctor of the Church, reveals a greater truth:
🕊️ Perfect security that can never be lost
👑 Honor that raises beggars to royalty
🔥 Joy that heals every wound
This is the promise of Heaven—the glory Christ won for you.
As we walk with Jesus through His suffering and death, remember: Eternal life doesn’t begin later. It begins with Him.

Think about this! Are you anchored in eternity or drifting with the world We chase health protect wealth and grasp for anything that feels secure But deep down we're longing for more Not just safety but perfect security Not just honor but eternal glory St Anelm of Canterbury doctor of the church shows us what our hearts were made for A joy that heals every wound raises beggars to royalty and can never be taken away This is the promise of heaven Welcome back Today is Wednesday of Holy Week We are so thankful that you're here And I just want to start off by saying thank you to all of you who've supported us whether it's through your prayers or even your financial contributions It really does make a difference We can't do this without you So very thank you Thank you so much Today we're talking about two glories of heaven from St Als And the first one is the glory of absolute security I want you to place your mind upon all those things that you really value Don't we want to protect that which we love I think about the extreme lengths sometimes that we go to to protect what we value Consider your health Take for example Brian Johnson He spends $2 million a year trying to reverse aging He follows a strict vegan diet eats exactly 1,977 calories daily takes over 100 supplements sleeps with a helmet that monitors brain activity and underos monthly MRIs ultrasounds and blood tests He brushes and flosses his teeth in a precise pattern for 20 minutes a day He once transfused his own son's plasma into his bloodstream Even his organs are ranked by age All of it just to stay young Doesn't that sound exactly like our life I'm like if I have enough time to brush my teeth quickly No I brush my teeth regularly 20 minutes Brushing your teeth in exactly the same pattern every day because there's probably some science behind it I mean I'm all for brushing teeth but all with the right appropriate measure You see it's okay to look after one's health God has given us a physical body and we should be responsible with the blessing that he has given us But here we have an extreme example of taking this It's just way way way too far He it is reported that he spends 6 to 8 hours a day in his anti-aging routine So basically he's spending most of his life trying not to age Ask yourself the question well then is he really living That 6 to 8 hours a day trying to not age not really living but all of that on himself But then I thought can't be too hard on the guy Am I any different How much of my day do I spend on myself looking at the blessings that God has given me claiming them as my own and then trying to protect them with all the strength that I have Now there's a certain degree of prudence right When God has given us something we ought to protect For example the father is the protector of his family and I take that very seriously But the question is how much of that time are we spending in selfishness where we live as though the whole world and universe revolves around ourself Now consider all that you value all that you love Isn't there an anxiety about losing it Think about uh something recently like co was your life turned upside down Ours was There was 400 days over 400 days that our provincial government had restrictions on how many people you could have in your home Think about just that one aspect loved ones being disconnected and how that just created so much anger and fear and worry in people Uh I think what CO did was showed us how fragile life really is in one respect And so what's heaven like Well heaven is the absolute security over every perfect blessing that we're experiencing in life So therefore there's no fear there's no worry there's no anxiety It's absolute secure for all eternity St Ansom says "You will therefore be perfectly and absolutely secure in your happiness and will have no need whatsoever to fear the incursion of any foe adversity or misfortune which could deprive you of anything which you possess or enjoy." The next glory of heaven the glory of honor St Anzone begins this section with a beautiful analogy He says "Imagine a beggar on the side of the road a young man covered with soores ulcers He's diseased and everyone walks by him He's an undesirable left to die And then you have a king a a magnificent king walking by He sees this young man dying And he orders this young man's wounds to be tended to to he him to be bandaged bandaged up He he orders him to get fine clothes upon put on this man But not just fine clothes his own fine clothes from his own shop So he's dressed in royalty And then he declares over this young man that he is now his adopted son That everything in his kingdom is now his He is the heir So this young man has gone from rags to royalty from a beggar to beloved Would not this person be greatly honored St Anselm says "But this is certainly just what God the king of the universe has done for you for we fallen human beings are born in the corruption of the flesh and our lot is filled with many miseries And although we are covered with the wounds of misery and ulcers of sin God himself comes to our assistance motivated by his mercy alone He will cure us of our afflictions He will adopt us as his sons and daughters through grace and make us sharers in and heirs to the untold splenders of his glorious kingdom He will establish us as peers and co-airs with his only begotten son and shall place all created things under our dominion Great honor in store for those who are in heaven He goes on and makes a point about do all experience the same type of honor or glory And as we've seen with others the answer is no And he uses an interesting analogy that I've never heard before He said "Consider three things wood lead and iron and throw them into a fire." What happens Well the wood starts to burn The the uh the lead he says melts but the iron glows You see in each one the wood still is itself itself but it burns the the lead melts and the iron does something a little different It takes and absorbs the heat and it glows So he says thus in the same way souls in heaven will be honored but differently yet they still remain uniquely who they are And in fact I think we could say the soul in heaven becomes fully who it's meant to be St Anelm says thus shall it be amongst the souls of the blessed in the heavenly realms Some will be closer to the ineffable majesty of God And it is of these that it may most pertinently be said "You are gods." But even those who occupy the lower ranks of the celestial court and are further removed from the throne of deity shall also participate in the divine nature according to their capacity and properties They also may be referred to as gods since they will be participants in the nature of the one divinity The language may make some uncomfortable What do you mean that we are made gods or a god Well notice that he uses a language with a little G The teaching of the church is that we become partakers in God's divine nature And I think that's why he uses that language But imagine that honor and that glory that is that is shared Isn't that beautiful And will that be enough to satisfy the heart Well the answer is yes because heaven is the fulfillment of all desire Share with us below what stood out to you and why and we will see you [Music] tomorrow Oh my Jesus oh highest good I repent of having so lightly esteemed your grace that I have barted it away for mere nothing When will it be oh Lord that I shall see you face to face and shall embrace you without the fear of ever having to lose you Aid me with your grace This I hope for through your merits More and more increase in me your love and the desire to please you Amen
